Four Turkey Parties Slam US For Sanctions on Turkish Ministers
Four political parties in Turkish Parliament issued a joint declaration, sharply condemning the U.S. sanctions against two Turkish ministers.
We are saying No to the U.S. threats with determination and joint solidarity of our people,” said a communique released by Justice and Development Party (AKP), National Movement Party (MHP), IYI (Good) Party and Republican People’s Party (MHP).
Parliamentary group chairmen of the four parties put their signs to the document.
On Wednesday, the U.S. Treasury Department imposed sanctions on Justice Minister Abdullah Gul and Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu. The sanctions represented a new low moment in recent decades in bilateral relations.
Turkish Foreign Ministry vowed to retaliate against the U.S. sanctions without delay as authorities began to contemplate certain measures to be taken.
