Turkish Movie ‘Minus One’ Receives Four Awards in New York
Turkish movie Eksi Bir (Minus One), directed by Orhan Oguz, was granted four awards, including the top prize, at the 2018 Chelsea Film Festival held between October 18 and 21 in New York City.
In addition to the Grand Prix Award for Best Feature Film, the movie has won the awards for the Best Screenplay, Best Male Actor (Metin Belgin) and the Best Cinematography (Cihan Yesiltarla).
Minus One‘s plot is centering around a homeless person and three municipal police officers trying to get rid of him, while the entire story is set within a single night.
Yasemin Kucukcavdar representing the production company Kardes Sanatlar is the executive producer behind the movie, whose screenplay was co-written by director Orhan Oguz and Eyuphan Erkul.
Leading roles are shared by veteran Turkish actress Nilufer Acikalin, theater actor Metin Belgin, Ercan Kesal, known for a recent popular TV series and Serkan Ercan.
Last week’s event was the sixth edition of the Chelsea Film Festival (CFF), which is an international film festival dedicated to independent films and a non-profit organization based in New York City.
