The Turkish cabinet deferred most of its executive powers to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan with the last decree before the new presidential system officially goes into effect on July 8.
President Erdogan now acquired major powers reserved for the council of ministers, or the Cabinet, and will use them to establish new 16 ministries when he starts his new term at the presidential office.
Which ministries will remain in place and what will be their role and power will be determined by President Erdogan, the new decree says.
The decree No: 477 was published by Official Gazette on Thursday, and it contains 74 new articles to regulate the workings of the new cabinet after the executive presidential system will start next week.
